Thursday, 24 April 2008

Wednesday's pre-Carnival press conference and photocall gave a taste of what's to come this Sunday as a wide range of artists playing at the weekend spoke to the national media at Victoria Park on why they're playing the event and of their determination to celebrate and defend our multicultural society.

Jay Sean, Drew McConnell, The Paddingtons, Roll Deep, Jerry Dammers, Jimmy Pursey, Bashy, Tinchy Stryder, Alex Mills, Skream, Benga, Fyfe Guillemot, Ed Larrikin and Jamie Noisettes all took part.

ITV's London Tonight, Radio 1 Newsbeat and BBC 6 Music were among those carrying reports afterwards, sending interest in Sunday's event through the roof.
